Educational Psychologist - Marie Kelly
PG. Dip. Ed Psychology (Registered Psychologist) PG Cert. of Education Psychology; M.A. (Hons); Dip Teaching (Adv), Member of NZ Psychological Society.
Marie is an Educational Psychologist registered with the NZ Psychologist Board. She holds a Masters Degree (Hons) in Education, a Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education Psychology. Marie has been registered with NZ Teachers Registration Board since 1983.
Marie’s extensive experience of over 26 years within the fields of Education and Psychology includes:
- Former Educational Psychologist for the Ministry of Education, Special Education (School Focus Team)
- Guest Presenter at the 23rd World Congress on Reading, July 2010, (Reciprocal Teaching - Reading Comprehension)
- A registered primary teacher, former Tutor for the University of Auckland (Education ), Tertiary Lecturer Reading and Language Department at University of Auckland, Lecturer for Retraining Teachers’ Course
- Former teacher for ESOL students and Gifted and Special Needs students in primary and secondary schools
- Former Resource Teacher of Learning and Behaviour (RTLB)
- Certified Triple P Positive Parenting Programme practitioner (Level 4)
- Scerts Model trained (Autism)
- Presenter of numerous Reciprocal Teaching (Reading and International) workshops for schools, Teachers’ Centres and NZ Education and Reading Conferences
- Co-author of internationally published papers : Reading Comprehension
- Author of Reciprocal Teaching: "A Practical Approach to Improving Reading Comprehension Skills” (2008)

Educational Psychologist - Hilary Dixon
Hilary is an Educational Psychologist registered with the NZ Psychologists Board. She holds a Masters degree (Hons) in Education and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education Psychology.
Hilary’s experience of over 22 years within the field of education and psychology include:
- Educational Psychologist for Group Special Education, Ministry of Education for eleven years. Worked in School Focus and Early Intervention Teams. Role included casework with preschool and school age children with a range of special educational and behavioural needs; provision of parenting courses to referred parents; provision of behaviour training to Early Childhood Centres and paraprofessional staff.
- Licensed Earlybird Parent Training Provider for Autism New Zealand: Parent Training Programme for parents of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Certified Triple P Positive Parenting Programme practitioner (Level 4)
- Research Fellow (Education Department, University of Auckland) in the evaluation of “Parents as First Teachers Pilot Project”.
- Tutor for Education Department, University of Auckland
- Preschool Teacher at IHC preschool.
- Regular attendee at conferences and workshops
- Mum of teenage twins and a son of nine years

Literacy Teacher - Annette McDonald
Our Literacy Teacher, Annette is a mum of grown up children and a highly experienced and skilled empathetic NZ trained Senior Teacher.
- Annette is a NZ trained and registered Primary School teacher of over 35 years. Annette is an experienced Reading Recovery and ICT teacher. She has experience in the Bannatyne, Steps to Literacy, Toe by Toe programmes.
- Annette’s extensive knowledge of the Primary school curriculum and her expertise and understanding of the reading process is second to none. Annette has lengthy experience as a teacher for individual children with learning difficulties in reading, writing and mathematics.
- Annette’s individualised programmes, explicit curriculum knowledge, empathetic, friendly and positive personality gets fantastic results!
Accounts Administrator for Kidz Psychology Education and Learning
Jacqui
- Jacqui has been contracting for the last 2 years doing administration and accounts work and it works out perfectly having the balanced work and home life. She wishes she'd done it sooner!
- Jacqui is a born and bred Aucklander.
- Married with two children her daughter is in her early 20s and son a teenager at Secondary School
- Jacqui and her family enjoy their holidays away overseas once a year.
- Jacqui enjoys BBQ's summer and winter.

Our tutors work in consultation with Marie in determining the best way of tutoring students and follow planned lessons. Peter
- Peter is an Engineering student; he is a long-term tutor at Kidz Psych Ed and Learning and also has a very successful history with his students. Peter has been awarded many commendations for examination results.
- Peter has a fantastic ability in relating to adults and kidz and importantly skilfully tutors in such a way that his students get results.
- Peter has been awarded 6 commendations from the University of Auckland for his outstanding work.

Siobhan
- Siobhan has recently graduated from AUT with a Bachelor of Communications degree. She has a warm empathetic personality with both children and adults alike. Siobhan is currently completing her studies as Speech and Drama teacher; she is able to assist any age or stage with public speaking. Siobhan can coach your child to give that winning speech at school or even that school or wedding speech that is worrying you.
Ash
- Ash is at Auckland University studying engineering science.
- Ash is passionate about maths, and hopes to encourage those around him to feel the same.
- Ash also made it onto the Dean’s list as a top scholar in his first year.
We also have tutors available on a needs basis for Accounting, Economics, Geography and Classics.
Caitlin
- Welcome to Caitlin; an Auck. Uni. student of many talents. Caitlin has won numerous outstanding awards, scholarships and distinctions in English, Statistics, Sociology, History and Political Studies at school and University. She has even won an award as a Comedian; in her spare time Caitlin enjoys singing, films writing and stand up comedy among other things. Welcome Caitlin.
Lauren
- Lauren is at Auckland University in her fourth year studying Commerce and Property, continually achieving high grades. Lauren enjoys life; she is a social and outgoing personality.
- Lauren enjoys working with all ages and levels, to successfully achieve their academic goals and keep them focused. She particularly enjoys tutoring Accounting, Chemistry and Classical Studies.
- Lauren also presents the Study Skills and Strategies workshops in the holidays.
Laura
- Laura has just graduated with BA/LLB degrees (2010, Uni of Auck); she has a very successful tutoring track record, particularly in English and History. Laura tutors our most senior students in both NCEA and Cambridge pathways. Laura has a warm personality and gets results!
